If you're looking to splurge just a little, a bunch of posh Beverly Hills hotels are offering a special buy-two-nights-get-one-free from March through June. The best looking deal appears to be the Thompson on Wilshire, which gives you a buy two nights at $192 and get a free third night, which averages out to $128 plus tax. And, you get free breakfast for two during your stay.

Cheap Eats

Don't have the time or the cash to experience some of the best cuisine in L.A.? Try a walking Tasting Tour, which fills you up with some of L.A.'s finest delicacies and gives you a chance to walk off the calories. There are three by Melting Pot Tours that cover Pasadena, L.A.,'s Latin American cuisine and the Farmer's Market. Prices range from $25 for kids up to $59 for adults.

Cheap Anaheim

Cheap Valentine's Day

It doesn't have to be expensive. The best L.A. deal is probably at the Americana at Brand shopping/entertainment center, where you can get a three-course meal at one of five restaurants, two AMC movie tix and free valet parking, all for $60/couple. The promotion runs Feb. 1 to April 28.

Cheap Whale Watching

Seeing the whales is exciting, but it can also be pricey. You can get have a whale watching experience without the wallet drain the weekend of February 19-20. The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium is setting up an observation station at the end of the pier with binoculars so you can get a look at the migrating behemoths. Admission is free for children under 12 and there's a suggested donation of $5 for everyone else.

Cheap Movie Star Watching

So you didn't win the lottery for grandstand seats at next month's Academy Awards? You can still get some star-watching the night before on February 26 at the Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica. These honor independent films and typically draw Hollywood's top talent. What's unique about this event is it takes place in a large tent on the beach. Security is tight, but there's plenty of room to watch limos roll up and stars roll out.

If you're in the Beverly Hills/West Hollywood/Sunset Strip area on a Monday or Tuesday with the munchies, check out the Cabo Cantina. It's all-you-can eat sliders on Mondays for $5, with the same deal for tacos on Tuesdays. Plus, two for one drink prices from 4:00 to 8:00 daily.
